No matter where people live I believe they get into a routine. We are no different. Ours involves a roof and “rocking” style chairs. Every night we head upstairs to the open air 3rd floor of our apartment that currently serves as a roof. It is not a beautiful place, there are piles of rocks/cement, cut up pieces of tile and leftover wood that “decorate” the area. But for us the roof has a dual purpose. It is also our “patio area” where the fresh, cool breezes flow right off the Ucayali River providing a much needed respite from the heat and humidty.
Last Friday evening there was an added dimension to the breezes that flowed. Another wind was in the mix – swirling around us – a much stronger one. The presence of the Holy Spirit began moving us in the direction toward another path. As we talked about it, we both became more excited at the prospect, it fit the call of our hearts, the direction of Trinity’s Angels and was just too intriguing to pass up.
So … right now … we are asking for you prayers, alongside ours – for guidance and direction in this new endeavor that has been placed in our path. THE PROJECT…to buy land and build a house for abandoned children. A place that 10-15 children will call HOME and live and grow in safety and love. Where needs will be met and laughter, fun and craziness overflow. Can you just imagine???? We can !!! We know it’s huge, but we also know that we serve a HUGE God and if that is what HE wants, then it will happen.
The following day a bible verse came to Cindy and it fits appropriately,
“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
Psalm 82:3-4
Sounds like a great verse to put over the door of the home!
The children “cry out” for attention and love. Their needs are great. How can we turn our heads and look away?
In His Mighty Grip waiting on His green light to move forward and gooooooooo,
Stephanie
