<p>So … last week we drove a couple of kilometers out of town to look at some land for sale. Why you ask???</p>
<p>Well…a couple of weeks ago God put on our hearts a call to do something more than what we are doing for abandoned/orphaned children. We feel the stirring, the strong passion to build a home for 10-15 of these children. So the feeling goes. And it is a start!</p>
<p>According to one of the people we went to see this area with, the two lots we looked at are located right in the heart of an area that has a tremendous number of kids that need food, shelter and clothing. Some are left behind when one parent re-marries and moves off with their new spouse. We can't even wrap our heads around that concept. Others are left to fend for themselves when parents go to another area to try and find work. Some are waiting for their parents to be released from jail. Can only imagine God's plan…..mind boggling.</p>
<p>We have been praying and listening; still waiting for His "official" word – GO – and as soon as we have that – the passion will be literally unleashed.</p>

<p>Welcome to the future home of "The Angel House!" Has a nice ring to it! This is the view as you enter one of the two lots that we would purchase.</p>

<p>It's already level, probably won't need too much grading and the brush isn't that bad that a couple of machetes can't handle it! Finally we have found a valid reason to buy machetes!</p>

<p>This is the first lot – there are mango, lime and coconut trees along with yucca that is used like a potato. A couple of other fruit bearing trees and plants but honestly I don't remember their names and it is just too tough to try and describe them! One is like a huge, huge seed pod – up to 3 feet long. You crack it open and then eat the cotton-like substance inside. Yeah – enough said right!</p>

Fences are already in place. Our neighbors – well several happen to be part of Luz Divina church; the one we have been working with for a few years! GOD definitely has His hand in this project……</p>
<p>The lot frontage is pictured below.</p>

<p>Just standing on this land there is a sense of calm, and tranquility. It is quiet and peaceful and quite honestly feels like home.</p>
<p>Please pray along with us as we put together a budget and wait on His timing and provision. Oh and if you know of any construction people that might want to come and donate their labor or anything else – we are taking names!</p>

The seed pod tree is guaba, very popular in Peru, Colombia & Ecuador. You can make juice out of the fluffy seed coverings inside the pods or eat them “straight,” as you mentioned. Our kids always called them “jungle ice cream,” since–with a bit of imagination–they do bear a slight whiff of resemblance to vanilla.
